CHRISTINE veit - OWNER & lead teacher

Meet Christine. She has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and has been in the Triangle area since 2019. Originally from Chicago, her style developed as vinyasa and ashtanga based, with a heavy focus on alignment. After a repetitive-stress injury from too many vinyasa-flows, her focus is now on injury prevention, mindfulness and breath awareness.

Earth Yoga was born for the common people — those with limitations in their bodies, elderly populations, those who can’t touch their toes, as well as athletes, former gymnasts and dancers. All classes are accessible and approachable. You will leave with a confidence in a practice that is grounding, stabilizing, invigorating and deeply yours.

Christine currently teaches Sundays at 10am Earth Yoga (75m), Mondays 4:30pm Moon Yoga (75m), Tuesdays at 4:30pm Earth Yoga, Wednesdays at 4:30pm Myofascial Release, 6pm Sunset Flow, Fridays at 9am Sun, 11am Moonlight and Saturdays at 10:30am for Lightning Bolt (90m).

Rebekah - teacher

Rebekah is a yoga instructor who found yoga in postpartum and had a transformative experience of embodiment that accelerated her own journey toward wholeness. She is currently working toward her RYT-500 certification and is a lifelong collector of tools that she can offer to aid in wholeness for any individual.  She loves to instruct in a way that encourages a person to nourish and cultivate their mind-body connection so that they can unlock inner wisdom for their own lives.

Her classes will always begin with a compassionate invitation to pause and notice, creating space to listen to the messages your body is sending you, so that you can practice responding with love and honor to yourself.

Her favorite part of yoga is that it can be a carved out space for a person to cultivate mindfulness and intention that becomes a habit they can eventually take off the mat to show up as the truest version of themselves in all other facets of their lives.

Rebekah currently teaches Sunlight Yoga at 9:30am on Tuesdays & Earth Yoga at 4pm on Saturdays.

Sharon - teacher

Sharon MacGregor is a certified yoga instructor, life coach, and owner/founder of Serenity Farm Yoga Sanctuary, a 10-acre farm located on Falls Lake in Durham, NC.  She has been leading retreats, workshops, and classes on the East & West Coasts since 2013.

Sharon’s journey into the world of yoga began when she was struggling with depression after her divorce. She became an instructor and a post-divorce coach who helps women create happy lives after divorce.

She sees yoga as a portal to self-knowledge. She uses coaching cues to help students focus and explore what is happening with their bodies along with what is happening with their minds. She includes touch, breath, and aromatherapy in her classes.

Sharon currently teaches Moonlight Yoga on Mondays at 11am and Sunlight Yoga at 9:30am & Sun Yoga at 11am on Wednesdays.

Satya - teacher

Smiling person with curly hair wearing a red shirt with laced neckline and an emblem.

Satya (RYT 200) fell back in touch with yoga in 2020 after having experienced it quite a bit growing up in India. Satya found yoga to be useful in releasing physical and mental stress as well as preventing injuries while partaking in other hobbies (martial arts) and avoiding stiffness in sedentary postures (ex. desk work and playing music). Through teacher training with Nova, Satya also gained exposure to breathwork (pranayama) and meditation and became a practitioner of these techniques.

In his classes, Satya blends these practices to enhance strength, agility, balance, calm and awareness.

In his free time, you can find Satya working on a music piece on his guitar, practicing jiujitsu with his friends or reading philosophy at a local cafe.

Satya currently teaches Sunrise Yoga at 9am on Saturdays.

Melissa - teacher

Woman smiling outdoors, wearing a blue tank top with curly hair, green trees in background.

Melissa began practicing yoga in 2015. At first, it was just a physical exercise, but over time, it evolved into a journey of self-discovery. Yoga helped her to quiet her mind and to concentrate on her body movements. In addition to practicing yoga, she incorporated mindfulness and breathing practices into her daily routine and noticed a positive change in her mind and spirit, especially after a stressful day.

Melissa encourages her students to explore how different poses feel in their bodies by connecting their breath to movements. She often reminds them to slow down and to take deep breaths. Her classes leave students feeling relaxed and centered. Melissa has completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Carolina Yoga Company and looks forward to sharing her practice with the community.

Melissa currently teaches Sunset Flow Yoga on Tuesdays at 6PM & Moon Yoga on Sundays at 4PM.

GRACIE - teacher

Person rolling out a yoga mat in a studio with gray flooring and green walls.

Gracie began practicing yoga asana on and off 14 years ago as a way to cope with anxiety, develop more body awareness, and foster body positivity. After the sudden death of her father in 2019, she was able to find a unique solace and space to feel and move through her emotions through deepening her yoga practice alongside regular somatic therapy sessions.

Gracie’s gratitude for the practice and desire to share the healing nature of somatic movement with others led her to complete two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings based in both vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga between 2020-2023 under Nani Berger and Allie Labate.

In Gracie’s classes, students can expect to experience a balance of dynamic + restorative asana coupled with breathwork, precise cueing, and plenty of modifications to make the practice your own.

Gracie currently teaches on Thursdays 4:30pm Earth Yoga & Fridays at 4:30pm, 75 minute Sunset Flow.

Jill - teacher

Woman practicing yoga on a green mat in a room with plants and a window.

Jill values the trauma-informed yoga teacher training she received and believes that all can benefit. Yoga is an opportunity for discovery, as our bodies and minds offer a unique experience each time we commit to a practice.

Jill draws from her life as a dancer, improvisor, and public school teacher. She loves to connect through gentle verbal guidance as well as demonstration in the practice.

In class, we work with breath and movement to build physical power and stamina while connecting the body with the mind and emotions as much as is comfortable. Above all, the time in class is for YOU to use in the way that you need. We aim to leave the practice with a sense of accomplishment and peace that can enhance our regular lives.

Jill teaches Autumn Moon Yoga every other Wednesday at 7pm.

indi & iva - studio doggos

Two small brown dogs sleeping on a carpet in sunlight.

Indi and Iva are Christine’s dogs who may show up on their little couch or to give you a kiss hello at one of your classes! When they aren’t taking a savasana or practicing downward-dog, Indi likes playing at home with her toys and Iva likes going on walks to nowhere.

Both rescued in the pandemic, they share the balance between excited energy and calm, and radiate the meaning of yoga: to live fully in the present moment.
